Beautiful Day

It's such an amazingly beautiful day in the Panhandle!!!! Time to pack up and head to Palo Duro Canyon for a great evening with wonderful friends!!! Just made yummy cucumber dip and one more trip to United and I'm out of here!!! Happy Mother's Day to all of my fabulous friends!!!!!

29 days and counting.....

We are 29 days away from 24 Hours in the Canyon!!!!! It literally feels like it was just yesterday that I was at last years event. It was AMAZING. I reconnected with some of the most amazing friends, EVER. I love the constant encouragement that I receive from them. I am quite excited about the trophy's for the kids event. Silly as that sounds, I know. I've seen first hand, how excited kids get about a trophy. So, I was like a kid in a candy store when I found out that trophy's cost less than medals!!!!! LOVE IT!!!! I'm sure the moms will not, but I just spoil them and send them home!!!! Speaking of.....should be leaving for Idaho around June 30 to get the Munchkins!!! Can't wait. Time sure has flown....

Wow! I haven't been on here in forever!!! I am pretty much consumed with 24 Hours in the Canyon. I am now on the committee. I am on the Merchandising Committee and the Chairman of the Kids Race. Both of the committees are a first for our event. WE have the merchandise pretty much taken care of, except the quantities. That's tough! The Kids Race should be interesting.... I'm great with kids, LOVE them. However, I have NO clue about bike races/trails. I'm a runner. Enter my sweet friend from High School, Brian!!!! He is an avid cyclist and will be covering my rear on that end. That maybe didn't sound so good. Oh well!

Haven't ran in entirely too long, so what better motivation than to sign myself up for a few CRAZY runs? Well, that's what I did. Next Saturday, it's just a mile. Then, next month it's a 7K and then (yes, it gets better) in May, it's a half marathon!!!! That has been my dream since Mandy passed. We always talked about doing a marathon together. I figured a half would be appropriate, since there is just half of us left. I think she has a lot to do with my "obsession" with 24 Hours in the Canyon. Well, and the fact that my sweet friend Dannielle just had a double mastectomy last night. Cancer is the word I hate the most. Imagine a day when Cancer no longer can win.........
